What to do at Azura Retreats Quilalea

SNORKEL NICE AND SHALLOW... Snorkel for hours in the marine sanctuary a few meters from your villa. Even novice snorkelers will love the variety of fish in the shallow turquoise waters. Day trips delight in sea kayaking to nearby Sencar Island through the mangrove channels.

GUIDED NIGHT SNORKELLING... Everything looks very different at night. Under the guidance of a specialist instructor, go out and see the marine life that comes out to play after the sun has gone down. This is a real highlight for guests and an experience not to be missed.

MOZAMBICAN DHOW CRUISE...  Why not sail in a traditional Mozambique Dhow, to enjoy sunset romance at its best? Humpback whales cavort in the bay during July and August. And if you are lucky, you may find yourself swimming with Bottlenose dolphins close to Quilalea.

ISLAND HOPPING AND VILLAGE TOURS...  Have your eyes opened by a tour of the working coconut plantations on Quirimba Island and the local village. Take a boat to Quisiva Island with your children – a chance to snorkel and dive or just chill and look around.

BAOBAB BATH...  Celebrate a special occasion in a cast iron bathtub set up in the open at your villa. Enjoy a glass of bubbly as the sun goes down, or as the stars are coming out in the evening sky. This is the perfect for celebrating a special occasion and a must for honeymooners!

TAKE A GUIDED NATURE AND BIRDING WALK...  It is hard to believe that the 86 acre Quilalea Island boasts an incredible 34 species of birds!  Look out for the Mangrove Kingfisher and fantastic waders. Come from November through to March when the pelagic migrants have arrived from north of the equator.

Dive Down Deep

Explore the Quirimbas Archipelago surrounding tiny Azura Quilalea. A Padi dive center supports all your diving requirements. Go and discover untouched dive sites close to the island where walls and drop-offs provide spectacular scenery and marine life.
